Suspected Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)

The doctor's office called me on Friday and booked me an appointment to see the doctor yesterday.

I have to go for a lab test to confirm Hypothyroidism.  It showed up in my February laboratory paper work.

My understanding is that it is common and easily treated with a small pill.

As seen by Mayo Clinic online :-

Hypothyroidism signs and symptom may include:
  • Fatigue
  • Increased sensitivity to cold
  • Constipation
  • Dry skin
  • Unexplained weight gain
  • Puffy face
  • Hoarseness
  • Muscle weakness
  • Elevated blood cholesterol level
  • Muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness
  • Pain, stiffness or swelling in your joints
  • Heavier than normal or irregular menstrual periods
  • Thinning hair
  • Slowed heart rate
  • Depression
  • Impaired memory
I am glad I am being looked at.  Thank you Canada.
