11:45 AM

I have been up for a while.  I said my prayers and made the bed.  I made coffee and we watched The Daily Show and The Colbert Report from yesterday, while drinking the coffee.

11:49 AM - Gave the cats food and fresh water.

12:26 PM - Good afternoon blog.  I have walked 4.2 miles and burnt 157 calories.  Just now. And the whole 1/2 hour, I was listening to Praise 106.5 FM.

1:08 PM - My cousin and her friend are visiting.  I have two loads of laundry in the washing machines - and that is an accomplishment for the day.  Thank you Jesus.

1:36 PM - Making progress.  The clothes are now in the dryers.  Every time I do laundry I remember how easy it is here to do laundry and I try not to beat myself up for having laundry overflowing.  The fact that I fetched water for my laundry in Kenya and had to scrub the clothes by hand should not dictate how I do laundry in North America.  I am a trial and error gal and so when I did coin machine laundry for the first time in 1996, I made it.  The machines have instructions.  It is turning out to be a marvellous day.

1:43 PM - Tuburudike.

3:25 PM - I went out to buy some beverages.  My beloved husband and I went to a conference in Toronto, and we discovered the steam whistle.  I urged our close by store to bring it in.  After much asking, they now have steam whistle at Swans.

Much like the Santa Kruz ginger ale.  I pleaded with Tomley's market to get it, and they have carried it for a long time now.  I am influential.

About the laundry, the one load did not dry properly and and the other other was wet, like as if I never put coins and run the machine.  The one machine is obviously broken.  I brought the more dried up clothes upstairs and since the other ones won't be dry either, I have to combine the loads as I only have two loonies.

5:44 PM - Finally I have every piece of laundry clean apart from the pants I changed from.  If only I can keep up doing laundry once a week, that would keep things moving smoothly.  I should do laundry once a week whether there is enough for a load or not.  This way I can be assured that the clothes will dry at least on the first attempt.  Clothes would have been washed and dried by now in Africa.

6:14 PM - I am having an outreach conversation with a facebook-er in Kenya. He calls me mum.  Kariz.
