Posted: Fri Jul 24, 2009 1:38 pm Nice summer day.

I like planting things but I had not planted anything for years. I was so depressed that my mind was not there.

The year before the last, I planted some spices and stuff but nothing grew. Wasn't in the right frame of mind to take care of the plants. I could hardly take care of myself.

This year though, during Easter holidays, I called my cousin (in marriage) and we planted 11 geraniums. They are doing alright but I know I can take better care of them. All the plants and soil and pots cost me around $100. The joy I get out of it when I put my mind to it is more valuable than a $100.

I have to get plates for my plants that don't have any. When I finally get to watering the plants, the water goes down to my downstairs neighbour and if he is on the balcony, he gets a forced shower. In fact we realized this on Canada day when a few colleagues from the club came over for a toke before the fireworks. One thing led to another and the neighbour came over and geez we realized he owned a couple of stores downtown...he and Ted made quite the connection. Yeah.

Anyway, this year I planted some potatoes. Here is the harvest and in that white pot is another potato waiting to pop some leaves.

Here is the harvest.

Today I also wanted to talk about the color purple and wondering if Ted has worn his vibrant purple shirt...I saw it at the club in passing after he bought it.

I took a photo of Budders t-shirt to illustrate my point. Steph looks good in purple as well. So does kristen.wscr and Gayle and anyone. I am in awe of purple.

Thanks Budders.

The story is, my late daughter was named after her paternal grandmother Jacinta. I did not have much choice in the name. I was going to call her Vivian. When Jacinta died in Kenya a year after I left for Canada, I started wanting to know who she was. I went to Chapters around 2000 and started to look in children's name books for her name.

To my surprise, Jacinta means purple in Spanish and Portuguese. And you know the last birthday she had with me, I bought her a purple dress with white on it and when I asked her what color birthday cake she wanted, she said purple. When I looked at all this as an after thought, my mind was blown away. Probably the only kid in the whole village that celebrated a birthday. The thing is, I knew I had AIDS when she was three and I intended that she had the best life. Too bad she died before me but all that is beyond me or you my reader.

So every time I see purple no matter what purple means, I recall my kid. Is that worth it Budders?

I have to be at work in about an hour. I am ready. Just have to eat and stroll to work. Oh yeah and have a bowl of weed...

I have attained peace and calm Peoplez! How did this happen? Read the whole story man...I am amazed. It all begins in the mind. Ask me questions. I am an open book...

I'm out. I could write forever.

Peace!

  1. Your neighbour's name is Dan. He is a really nice guy and owns a couple of stores in town that will soon give members a discount.

It was nice being welcomed into your home again. It is a reflection of your improving health and wellbeing. -tedsmith
