Posted: Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:28 am Happy Saturday.

I survived yesterday very well because I was determined to. I smiled more at work and engaged people a little more. It was a nice day.

My life is quite dramatic in nature. After celebrating my daughter's demise yesterday, today I celebrate 13 years since coming to Canada. It was in the afternoon around 4:00pm (didn't know nothing about 4:20) when I arrived in my room at the Gage residence in UBC...

This time of the year also marks 16 years since I was diagnosed with AIDS. I had gone past the HIV when they caught up with me. They - meaning the paramedics. 16 years that I know of. That means that if I got the disease as a teenager at 17 years old, and was diagnosed with AIDS at 24 years old, I might have this virus in my body for almost 23 years! Shocked That is why I am working so hard in getting better because time is short but I can do something about it. I am avoiding immature death. Serious business. I would love to see my hair turn silver. Very Happy

The good thing though, I am happier with life than I have ever been.

Things to do today, have tea - scrap that...I don't have sugar in the house. I'll have juice, tidy the home, vacuum (no chance yesterday), watch a program or two previously recorded from TV. I love watching the preachers. Just the way I was brought up I hunger for that kind of a thing every now and then. Feed the mind, body and soul. I was brought up a hard core Christian and shocked the whole village when I got pregnant at 21 years old and today, the village in in denial of my AIDS. What I mean to say is that I have been influenced by Christ so much so that I can stand being preached at. Cool

We have a couple coming to visit for dinner. Beloved is cooking his specialty, Shepard's Pie.

Yesterday I spoke to my brother, sister in law and their children that were home. We were laughing so hard recalling the past. Like how my brother younger than me sat on a hot charcoal burner. He thought it was a chair.

They just got electricity in their home. We sent them some $ 200 on April 25, 09 thinking it was for the children's school fees but they used it for wiring the house. Then they got a loan and put electricity. Nice eh? We talked for over an hour for $15 over the Internet. They are only a phone call away. When I left, phones were at work. No cellphones. Now everyone has one. Even I have one. How did that happen? Rolling Eyes

The point I want to make is, family is very important. Ask Ted. Always keeps in touch with family even though he leads this other whole family. We all need support. And we can all be a support. It helps with health. And, a little goes a long ways.

What have I done in the 13 years I have been here?

Living life...and getting well. Mostly getting well. My main interests are HIV/AIDS and Medical marijuana. I have dedicated over 10 years each to this causes and since 2003, before we were even married, we give $300 a year to the BC children's hospital in memory of Jessy. She died in the hands of the paramedics so turn it around and give for other children to get better. I have been busy.

I joined the AIDS office as a volunteer in 1998. Still going strong.

Oh yeah, I started HIV medication in 1998 November and between then and April 1999 when I joined the club, I suffered looking for weed for my nausea and stomach cramps and lose of appetite. That is how I met my beloved running around for weed. The club natured us...we joined about the same time.

In those 13 years in Canada I have found myself and have been found by my beloved. I am no longer crazy wanting to impress everybody. I am just me.

Thanks Creator for my journey till now. The future is in thy hands. I am at peace...

Jah Rastafari.
