I have ten swimming lessons to go through. The first lesson was today. I was taught to breath under water, side grind or something. Very difficult on my left hand side. I'll master it though.
Last Wednesday we were at the pool and Gayle and Ted were so encouraging, cheering me on...Gayle said I can do anything I put myself into. That is the motivation that I lacked when I was growing up.
Come Friday last week, I signed up for adult swimming lessons. So far am the only student for my session. I saw my teacher teaching the young ones later.
Remembering to breath is a problem. When I stop breathing, my legs stop kicking and I stand. I just don't understand how water can hold me. The same I don't see how a a bicycle can hold me. The same way I cannot see myself operating machinery like driving a car. Lady bus drivers fascinate me.
And girls on a bicycle. You hardly saw any women on bicycles in Kenya.
The point is, I have tried swimming on my own for a couple of months. I am now doing lessons. I swim better with those funny water shoes on.
If I were a fish, I would swim, and I will even though I am not a fish. Very Happy
I am off to dinner with 2 friends from here. Life goes on.
Cheers!
