Posted: Sun Jun 28, 2009 11:25 am Washing my dirty, filthy kitchen in public.

Hey,

I got the photos as promised. I have made sure they are a small size for everybody's viewing.

It is a big step forward for me to finally do these chores. The hydrogen peroxide is definitely keeping me focused. I have also will power and determination. These chores won't do themselves and beloved is just happy to be where I am even if it is a garbage dump. What a pal...

We moved here in July of 2004. That is about five years without cleaning the stove and since we took over a friend's lease, we doubt the friend cleaned at all.

So it is a bit embarrassing but I am going ahead and posting the photos. I will try to arrange them so that you can see which one is before and which one is after. I think you can figure it out.

I know many people hold me highly but man, I am only a human being after all.

Place is nice and clean. That is all that matters. Yay!

Watch me soar...

Thanks for viewing. Hope you are not too disgusted. I was and had to do something about it.

Something changed and something good is going to happen!

Now I will have a cup of tea and a toke and zone out.

Happy Sunday. -.....

Very Happy

  1. I feel you Minneh! I have to do that to my apartment too- inside cupboards and drawers, do my walls and degrease the kitchen. Its a big effort, but it feels SOOOO good when you have your whole home clean!

  2. Foxxphyre,

    Thanks.

And that is the whole idea. To motivate people. The more of us get cleaning, the better we will feel.

Like our stove was clearly a health hazard. I couldn't believe we ate food cooked from in there. Geez.

I have been cleaning since December 2007 when our neighbours helped us move every thing to one room. Poured baking soda on the carpet and then vacuumed. Then move things to the other room and do the same.

Every Friday for years I have cleaned the house. You know bath tub, toilet, sink, bathroom floor, dishes (daily Rolling Eyes), wipe down counters, sweep and clean the kitchen floor, dust (maybe), tidy (maybe) and then vacuum. I do that every Friday but apparently that is not sufficient. And this is only a loft not a house.

In 2007, we got storage for $15 extra a month and put all that we didn't use daily there. Otherwise the place was cluttered.

So it has been a long journey to today.

I have to tackle the bedroom next. Some boxes have to go into storage. Like all my hand written journals. Maybe I will use them one day to write a kick ass novel.

What is really happening is that I have stopped worrying about certain issues. Where there was worry now comes creativity and initiative. Discipline. Co-operation. Worry is really a thief. Especially of time. After 40 years on earth and 13 in Victoria, I can confidently say I am starting to settle down and live. Yeah...

Foxxpyre, sorry Foxxphyre (yay!), thanks again for your encouraging response which shows me that all my effort was well worth it.

    You made my day Man!

    Nutty Dread!
